About Kankeshwar Temple
Shri Kshetra Kankeshwar” is one of the renowned & famous “Swayambhu” temple of Lord Shiva located in Kankeshwar, near Alibag in Raigad district, it is a Hoysala style structure. The hill is almost 1200 feet high and one has to climb 750 steps to reach the temple.Kanakeshwar is a place to feel the jungle and silence of the jungle and hills.The special attraction is an ancient sweet water tank enclosed in traditional structure of red stone.
